JANA PETERKOVA
Women’s Golf, 2001-02

Jana Peterkova played two seasons for the Moccasins and achieved the ultimate prize each year. As a freshman in 2001, she overcame a three-stroke deficit in the final round of the Division II championship to win the individual title by one stroke over teammate Rachel Bell and help FSC win the team title by 16 strokes. In 2002, she became the third Lady Moc golfer to win two national titles (after FSC Hall of Famers Shanna Nagy and Lisa Cave), edging teammate Lisa Ball by two strokes for the individual title and leading FSC to a record-setting 74-stroke margin for its third consecutive team title in women’s golf. For her 2002 season, Peterkova was named the Division II Player of the Year, Sunshine State Conference Female Golfer of the Year and FSC Female Athlete of the Year. A native of the Czech Republic, Peterkova currently plays professionally on the Futures Tour and twice has played in the Women’s U.S. Open (2005 and 2007).
