NICK DIYORIO
Baseball, 2003-06

Nick Diyorio was a key member of the Moccasins’ 2005 NCAA Division II national championship baseball team. An honorable mention All-America selection that season, Diyorio led the Moccasins in batting with a .403 average. At the Division II Championship Tournament, he hit .423 (11-26), drove in the go-ahead run in the title game as the FSC won its ninth national baseball title and made the all-tournament team. He played every inning of every game in 2005 and compiled 110 hits, a total that led Division II that season. He was selected as the 2005 SSC Male Athlete of the Year. He followed his 2005 season with a 2006 season that saw him hit .408 and compile 102 hits, making him the only player in FSC history to produce back-to-back 100-hit seasons and just the third player to hit .400 or better in back-to-back seasons. His career total of 309 hits is the best in Moccasin history and ranks as the 11th best total in NCAA Division II history. His career batting average of .393 is fifth-best in FSC history. Between the 2005 and 2006 seasons he put together was what then an NCAA Division II record 49-game hitting streak. He is currently employed by Geico.
