MOHAMMED SABIE
Men’s Soccer, 1954

Mohammed Sabie is credited with laying the ground work for the men’s soccer program at FSC. He organized a club soccer program for international students while also playing basketball and intramural volleyball. In 1981, he was awarded the FSC Alumni Humanitarian Award. Also a member of the Morehead State University Athletic Hall of Fame, Sabie taught for 38 years at Morehead State and is listed as one of the “founding fathers of soccer” in the state of Kentucky. A 1957 FSC graduate, he served in a coaching capacity for the Iraqi Olympic soccer team at the 1968 Mexico City Games.
