BETH GREIG
Softball, 1986-87

Beth Greig made a solid impact on the Moccasins’ softball program in just two seasons after transferring from Edison Community College. In her junior season in 1986, she hit .403 with three home runs, 30 RBI and 21 stolen bases, as the Moccasins were 34-13. She led the team in runs, hits, batting average, RBI and stolen bases and was a second-team All-American. The following year, she enjoyed one of the best seasons in school history. The Moccasins were 49-6 and finished as runner-up in Division II. Greig hit .430 with four home runs, 21 RBI and 12 stolen bases. She struck out only three times all season. At the Division II Championship, where she made the all-tournament team, she was instrumental in FSC’s two twins, scoring the game’s only run in the bottom of the eighth inning for 1-0 decision over Mankato State and driving in the game’s only run with a triple in a 1-0 win over Sacred Heart. She was a first-team All-America selection in 1987 and her career batting average of .417 is the third-best in FSC history.
